Pentagon Downs Missile in Simulated Attack to Test Proposed Shield

North Korea? Yeah sure...Please be honest with the American dumb bells by letting them know that Russia will be launching the missiles, not North Korea. I can not believe this charade is still going on. Russia is our friend? Blah, blah, blah.

Why is this charade being done? Well, because the American media is controlled by the Socialist Party of Amerika and the average brainwashed dope still has not figured it out yet that he is a communist lol...

WASHINGTON -- The Defense Department said Friday it shot down a missile in a simulated attack designed to test a proposed shield against strikes by long-range ballistic missiles from nations such as North Korea.

The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency used an interceptor missile launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California to knock down a missile meant to simulate the speed and trajectory of a North Korean attack. It struck the target missile around 3:30 p.m., shortly after the target was launched from a location in Alaska.

The military has conducted a series of tests in the past several years of the different components of the defensive shield, which is slated to include Patriot air defense batteries, anti-ballistic missiles launched from Navy ships and lasers mounted in planes designed to shoot down incoming missiles.

Friday's test, which cost between $120 million to $150 million, incorporated many of the network's multiple systems. For example, the Navy tracked the target from one of its ballistic missile ships but did not fire.

Russia Foreign Minister's to Visit to Poland on 9/11

ummmm, do you think this is a hidden message to Bush about the defense missile systems and Georgia joining NATO? The Russians celebrated the last 9/11 anniversary by detonating their largest non nuclear bomb.

Bush and Putin were butting heads much more than was reported in the months prior to the 9/11 attacks. Putin became furious when Bush announced the USA was pulling out of a nuclear treaty and that the Ukraine and Georgia would be joining NATO in 6/2001. Three months later? We all know what happened on 9/11/01.

MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russia confirmed on Wednesday that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Poland on September 11 to discuss U.S. missile shield plans, the Georgia conflict, and ties with the EU.

The Foreign Ministry said Lavrov will meet with his counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"I am positive that an agreement between Poland and the United States to deploy missile defenses in the [Central European] country, the situation in the Caucasus, and other international issues will be raised," ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said.

"I think talks will [also] be held on prospects for relations between Russia and the EU," he added."

Russia opposes the U.S. plans for a missile shield in Central Europe as a threat to its national security. Moscow earlier warned it would be forced to target its missiles at Poland if the former Soviet-bloc state hosted the interceptor missiles.

Warsaw formally agreed to the deployment of 10 U.S. interceptor missiles on its territory in mid-August. In early July, the U.S. also signed an agreement with Prague to place a radar station in the Czech Republic.

Sikorski said after the missile deal with Washington that Lavrov had cancelled his planned September visit to the country. The Polish Foreign Ministry said however the next day that Moscow had not formally confirmed the cancellation of Lavrov's visit. Sikorski then backtracked on his statement, saying it was a "misunderstanding."

Prime Minister Tusk earlier said the missiles and the accompanying U.S. military aid were needed to protect the country from Russia.

Poland was also among Russia's strongest critics over last month's armed conflict with Georgia, insisting on EU sanctions against Moscow.

Moscow recognized Georgia's breakaway South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states on August 26, two weeks after Georgian troops launched an attack to retake South Ossetia.

Both South Ossetia and Abkhazia broke away from Georgia in the early 1990s, and had enjoyed de facto independence for many years.

Rice signs missile defense deal with Poland

Expect the games to begin real soon...

The Russian link to terrorism is going to be revealed soon....BOOM

WARSAW, Poland - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her Polish counterpart signed a deal Wednesday to build a U.S. missile defense base in Poland, an agreement that prompted an infuriated Russia to warn of a possible attack against the former Soviet satellite.

The deal to install 10 U.S. interceptor missiles just 115 miles from Russia's westernmost frontier also has strained relations between Moscow and the West, ties that already troubled by Russia's invasion of its former Soviet neighbor, U.S. ally Georgia, earlier this month.

Rice and Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski signed the deal Wednesday morning.

"It is an agreement which will help us to respond to the threats of the 21st century," she said afterward.

U.S. missile shield in Europe targets Russia - Medvedev

Wow, you Russians are smart LOL....

Well, maybe the missile shield is going up, because people are onto your scheme to conquer and destroy the world by arming Muslims with your Satanic weapons? Ya think?

Eat some more fiber dude, you look constipated :)

SOCHI, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday he has no doubt that a planned U.S. missile defense shield for Central Europe is aimed against Russia, but Moscow is ready to continue talks with all parties concerned.

"The deployment of new missile-defense elements in Europe has the Russian Federation as its aim," Medvedev said at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi.

The United States and Poland signed an agreement on Thursday to deploy 10 U.S. interceptor missiles in the former Communist-bloc country.

Russian officials earlier said Moscow could deploy its Iskander tactical missiles and strategic bombers in Belarus and Russia's westernmost exclave of Kaliningrad if Washington succeeded in its missile shield plans in Europe. Moscow also warned it could target its missiles on Poland.

Ukraine Ready To Work With West On Missile Defense

You people be ready for a terror attack any time now. The real reason Bush is up Putin's ass is because of their ties to Iran, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela, violence in Africa, China and Al Qaeda. Yes, I said Al Qaeda...

Don't believe me? You will when the nukes go off....BOOM

Putin is using the radical Muslims, the same way that Hitler used the fanatical Japanese. Only in this war they are undermining our laws via the liberal courts, communist front groups like the ACLU and treasonous judges. They are also using sabotage, propaganda and infiltration .....

Ukraine says it is ready to make its missile warning systems available for Western countries after Russia announced it was pulling out of a long-term missile defense agreement.

The offer comes amid tensions between Kyiv and Moscow over the military conflict in Georgia, and follows Poland's agreement to host elements of a U.S. missile defense shield that Moscow strongly opposes.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Russia's abrogation this year of an agreement involving two tracking stations allows Ukraine to cooperate with other countries on missile warning systems and satellite tracking.

President Viktor Yushchenko issued a decree this week putting an end to Ukraine's participation in the 1992 accord in view of Russia's own abrogation of the deal in February, that came in response to Ukraine's application for NATO membership.

The statement says the country could invite European partners to integrate their early-warning systems. It says Kyiv is also ready to deal with "foreign countries interested in getting information about the situation in space."

The announcement is seen as further evidence of Ukraine's efforts to move closer to the West on security issues.

Ukraine's leadership has been increasingly at odds with Russia on a wide range of foreign-policy issues, including Russia's conflict with Georgia, a close ally of Ukraine, over South Ossetia.

On August 13, the Ukrainian president's office issued a decree ordering Russia to request permission to move its warships based in the Crimean peninsula.

The deputy chief of the Russian armed forces' General Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Nogovitsyn, dismissed the order as "nonsense."

"As for the Black Sea Fleet, we adhere to agreements that were signed by both sides. Those agreements clearly defined the status of our Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and were not called into question until the Ukrainian side changed its mind," Nogovitsyn said.

"We are working on this issue now. I think we will see some decisions made soon. The current situation cannot remain as it is for long, he added. "Obviously, we need negotiations in a bilateral format again in order to reach an agreement."

Russia was also angered by a preliminary deal allowing the United States to site missiles in Poland, which Washington says is needed against "rogue states" such as Iran.

Under the deal, signed by Poland on August 14, the United States will install 10 interceptor missiles at a base on the Baltic coast in return for help in strengthening Polish air defenses.

Nogovitsyn said the move will further harm ties with the West already strained by the Georgian conflict.

"When one party agrees to host [a foreign facility], of course, it assumes certain responsibilities. And we're talking about a military facility in this case, so there is additional [responsibility]," Nogovitsyn said.

"Certainly, any facility is the target -- excuse me, I mean the subject of the interests of another country. So, of course, one has to be careful with that," he said. "A bordering country always makes it its priority to strike such installations [in case of conflict]. So, it is not simply -- it cannot go unpunished from the point of view of [its] military use and so on."

Poland says the timing of the missile deal had nothing to do with hostilities in Georgia.

Russian Nukes Will Target European Cities that Host US Missile Defense Systems

This is seriously trying to scare the Russian people into thinking that they are in grave danger from Bush, the USA, NATO and the missile system. Maybe the missile system would not exist if Russia would stop selling weapons to terrorist nations like Iran and Syria, committing terrorist acts like the 9/11 attacks and the rest of their covert dirty deeds. The Western media is covering up all of these little facts...

"There is no doubt that elements of the U.S. missile shield will be placed in Georgia and Ukraine immediately after they join NATO," the analyst said, adding that Ukraine already had radars [in Mukachevo and Sevastopol] that may be used against Russia.

"The U.S. wants to create an impenetrable shield capable of intercepting and destroying Russian nuclear missiles on launch pads, in the initial trajectory, in orbit and on the final trajectory," he said.

Ivashov criticized the Russian leadership for "wasting time in empty rhetoric with the West," rather than taking concrete steps to counter the looming threat.

He suggested that Russia should threaten to sever all relations with NATO if the U.S. missile shield is eventually placed in Europe.

"Russia must also warn the European countries that...in case of a potential military confrontation...capitals, large cities, industrial and communications centers of the countries hosting elements of the U.S. missile shield will inevitably become the primary targets of [Russian] nuclear strikes."
