CNN's March Ratings in the Basement

More evidence that CNN is going to have to find a new strategy fast or risk becoming a cable news also-ran: In the month of March so far, the Time Warner-owned network has come in fourth place in prime time among adults 25 to 54, the key demographic for advertisers, more often than not.

Through March 17, CNN trailed not only Fox News and MSNBC but also its own sister network, Headline News, on nine out of 17 days. On one day, March 13, CNN even drew fewer 25-to-54 viewers than CNBC -- the first time that's happened since November 2007. And of the eight days it finished higher than fourth in the demo, five were either Saturdays or Sundays, typically the lowest rated nights for the news networks.

Asked about the trend, a CNN spokeswoman offered a statement that emphasized the network's long-term ratings growth -- while ignoring the even sharper gains made by Fox News and MSNBC -- and its claim to being No. 1 in total reach. (As I've noted before, that claim is based on CNN's "cume," or cumulative audience, a measure generally considered less important to advertisers.)

Iraq War 6 Years Later - Did the Democrats Let Bush Take Care of Their Dirty Work for Them?

The Democrats all talked tough about Saddam's WMD's during the Clinton years, but when push came to shove they lacked the balls to do a damn thing about it. They had no problem voting for the war and supporting the war (along with the socialist media) until they saw it was time to pull the rug out from Bush and the troops all for political gain.

Their behavior was treasonous, that is not even debatable at this point.

The media and the left wing vermin made sure that victory was not declared while Bush was still in office. The historic Iraqi elections were cleverly hidden by the media, because that would have been a positive note on the war.

How many soldiers died due to the direct undermining of the war by the liberals in the media and the Democrat party is unknown, but I sure would say it is safe to say that half of the deaths can be attributed to their constant propaganda against the war.

The behavior of the left emboldened Al Qaeda and Iran to kill more troops, because they knew that the terrorism would look real nice on the 5 'clock news every night. They knew that they could count on the American media to be their spokes mouth, just like the media did for the communists in the Vietnam war.

The false accusations of torture were also used as a tool to corner the U.S. Troops into a tighter spot during an already tough mission. Putting underwear on a terrorists head and dunking it into water is not torture. Go take a look at video's of Saddam's brutal socialist thugs, because that will remind you what torture really is all about.

The propaganda out there now is that Obama has ended the Iraq war. Golly gee, isn't that special and he did not even have to get his hands dirty. The American people have been brainwashed into believing the constant lies that have been spewed at them by the liberal media and the communist scum that are destroying our youth with their Marxist propaganda.

This Iraq war was really a proxy war with Syria and Iran; both are surrogates of Russia and China. Sounds familiar? Vietnam all over again...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, worried about the fate of The Chronicle and other financially struggling newspapers, urged the Justice Department today to consider giving Bay Area papers more leeway to merge or consolidate business operations to stay afloat.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, released by Pelosi's office, the San Francisco Democrat asked the department to weigh the public benefit of saving The Chronicle and other papers from closure against the agency's anti-trust mission to guard against anti-competitive behavior.

Is the new Obama administration taking cues from the Bush administration to get Congress to act? It certainly seemed that way to, South Carolina’s junior Republican senator, Jim DeMint.

DeMint, speaking Jan. 27 at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., explained the Obama administration will “create crisis and widespread panic” just like its predecessor in order to get Congress to act expeditiously.

“I’ve been around long enough to know whenever someone tells me I have to make a decision right now, my response is no,” DeMint said. “That clears it up right away and I think more and more the Bush administration and now this administration knows that they’re not going to get a quick reaction out of Congress unless they create crisis and widespread panic. And that’s going to be their M.O. to get Congress to act.”

Another senator, James Inhofe, R-Okla., explained the Bush administration used a similar tactic, under the direction of former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, to get the $700-billion TARP bailout bill passed by Congress back on Oct. 4, 2008.

DeMint said some Republicans now regret they voted for the TARP package, even though there is no way to gauge what might have happened had it not been passed.

Afghan president: US forces killed 16 civilians

Does this mean that Keith Olbermann, Dennis Kucinich and that other mental case Chris Matthews will call for Obama to be impeached for war crimes? I am waiting?

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - President Hamid Karzai condemned a U.S. operation he said killed 16 Afghan civilians, while hundreds of villagers denounced the American military during an angry demonstration Sunday.

Karzai said the killing of innocent Afghans during U.S. military operations "is strengthening the terrorists."

He also announced that his Ministry of Defense sent Washington a draft technical agreement that seeks to give Afghanistan more oversight over U.S. military operations. The same letter has also been sent to NATO headquarters.

Karzai in recent weeks has increasingly lashed out at his Western backers over the issue of civilian casualties, even as U.S. politicians and a top NATO official have publicly criticized Karzai for the slow pace of progress here.

The back-and-forth comes as the new administration of President Barack Obama must decide whether to support Karzai as he seeks re-election later this year as part of the United States' overall Afghan strategy.

Karzai's latest criticism follows a Saturday raid in Laghman province that the U.S. says killed 15 armed militants, including a woman with an RPG, but that Afghan officials say killed civilians.

Is the Media Guilty of Conspiring to Undermine the Presidential Election?

I know all about freedom of the press, but this is way different....

I think the media should be held accountable as CRIMINAL ENTERPRISES that are ACTIVELY SEEKING to UNDERMINE a Presidential election by slanting way more coverage to Obama than McCain. People will say FOX News would be guilty too and I say NO. The reason being is that they are trying to keep the balance that the socialist agents like Jack Cafferty and Keith Olbermann are perverting.

Subpoena e-mails and memos to see if there is a conspiracy, there is a case, but will anyone have the GUTS to do it? NO...

If there is evidence that News networks were actively seeking to push Obama so McCain does not have the same fair chance, this is a crime I feel. The media is under control of the SOCIALIST ENEMY and it is their agenda to start revolution, destroy Capitalism and the USA at all costs. They are not concerned about being fair or unbiased.

The intent has to be there to make the elections unfair therefore invalid. I bet if their e-mails are checked, this can be proven.
